The Major Trophies

The Sant Jordi Trophy and the Saint Andrew's Trophy hold the status of Major Tournaments and the winners recieve double Spectrum IFA Group Order of Merit points. The trophies remain the property of the Sant Jordi Golf Society and are entrusted to the winners until the following year. The winners of both trophies also retain a symbolic trophy in representation of their victory and are awarded induction into the Sant Jordi Hall of Fame.

The handicap Limit for participation in the Majors is Cat A 17.9 and Cat B 18 and above.

The Saint Jordi Trophy
The Saint Jordi Trophy is the oldest and most important of the Major events. The strokeplay tournament is played in April each year The present trophy was introduced in 2005 and aquired major Status in 2008. The Trophy was donated by Society President Graham Nash.

The Saint Andrews Trophy

The Claret Jug is the second major event of the year and is played in both Category A and B. In Category A the tournament is strokeplay and in Category B Stableford. The Saint Andrews Major is played over 18 holes and the inaugural evebt was played in 2005. The present Trophy was presented to Sant Jordi Society in 2007 by Vice-President Adrian Cox.

The Roger Hunger Trophy

The Winner of the Category A Order of Merit also recieves the Fabulous Roger Hunger Trophy. Roger Hunger is a long standing member of the Sant Jordi Golf Society and presented this magnificent trophy to the group in 2009.

Induction into the Sant Jordi Hall of Fame is based on the following:

    • Obtention of 6 tournament victories.

    • Winners of the Sant Jordi or Saint Andrews Trophies (Both with 'Major' status).

    • Captains of The Anglo Catalan Sant Jordi G.S. & Hanslope Park G.S.

    • Winners of the Spectrum IFA Group Order of Merit in either Category A or B.

The Spectrum IFA Group Order of Merit

The Spectrum IFA Group Order of merit of played over twelve months of the year from May to April with the top 9 of 12 possible qualifying scores counting towards the final classification. There are two categories for 2011-2012. Category A for players with Handicaps 17.9 and under and Category B for those from 18 to the Handicap limit of 36. These Categories are set for the year in April and promotion / demotion between categories is decided based on results. At the end of each year trophies and prizes are awarded to the top 3 in each Category. In addition to the Prize presented by the Spectrum IFA Group the winner of Category A will also be presented with the magnificent Roger Hunger Trophy.
